About the role The Site Supervisor/Leading Hand Carpenter role is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing day-to-day site operations and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. This role involves coordinating teams, managing subcontractors, and maintaining clear communication with clients and project managers to keep work on schedule and within scope. As a skilled tradesperson, you'll lead by example-bringing technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a strong work ethic to every task. About YOU You are a dedicated and experienced professional who takes pride in delivering quality workmanship and leading by example. The ideal person will be an organised and results-driven individual with at least four years of building experience and a Cert IV trade qualification (or equivalent). They will have a strong background in high-end residential construction, landscaping, or project management, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. This role requires someone who can effectively manage budgets, schedules, and team performance while fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. A natural leader and mentor, this person will support the growth of apprentices and staff, ensure efficient reporting and administration, and drive operational excellence across all areas of the business. A tertiary qualification in Construction Management or a related field would be highly regarded. Key Responsibilities Contributes to continual completion of onsite works. Contribute to the agenda & communication at foreperson's mtgs. Oversee and instruct apprentices in carrying out quality and safe practices. Quote collection post job start only when agreed with forepersons. Follow up & book Pre-quoted Suppliers & Trades to arrive on site. Informs Foremen of the Purchase order & date Authority to move staff between jobs. Allocates any additional staff to site. Co-ordinates singular defects list & issues report to the Project Manager Tracks task completion progress. Communicate budget, task completion & defects work to client. Offer suggestions on options, cost savings & design ideas when required. Maintain safe practices at all times. What we are looking for: Quality of Workmanship. Productivity and Efficiency. Safety.
